Siem Reap Arrival

Treeline Urban Resort, Siem Reap Deluxe Urban Room

A flourishing provincial town, Siem Reap is best known as the gateway to the treasures of Angkor. A collection of jungle-covered temples dating as far back as the ninth century, the Angkor Archaeological Park encompasses the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Angkor Wat, one of the most impressive examples of the lost Khmer civilization's architectural and artistic grandeur. The town is also an excellent base for exploring Tonle Sap, Southeast Asia’s largest freshwater lake, and its floating fishing villages and bird sanctuaries. Upon arrival, enjoy fast track service through the airport so you can enjoy more time in the city. You are met at the arrival gate by an airport official, who collects your passport and arrival/departure card. You are then escorted directly to the baggage claim area, bypassing the queues at immigration. After collecting your luggage, proceed through customs, making your way to the arrivals hall where you are greeted by your guide. Your passport is returned to you as you exit the terminal. Transfer to your hotel by private vehicle. Beautifully nestled along Siem Reap's riverside, Treeline Urban Resort is a boutique design property that offers a sense of home on the footsteps of ancient Angkor. The organic and minimalist aesthetic creates an inviting ambience with a serene, laid-back charm. Combining sustainable materials such as native timber and stone, the interiors feature handmade furnishings masterfully crafted with Cambodian artists and personally curated by the property's owners. Treat yourself to an Ayurvedic treatment at the spa, sip signature cocktails at the bar or enjoy regional dishes infused with Khmer spices at the restaurant. Tonight, your dinner (Western/Asian Set Menu or Buffet) will be served at hotel. *Please note: Please ensure that your arrival/departure card is completed before handing it to the officer. If you intend to apply for a visa on arrival, please also prepare one passport-size photograph and hand it to the officer. Visa fee not included.

Siem Reap

Treeline Urban Resort, Siem Reap - Deluxe Urban Room

Breakfast at the hotel. This morning, head out with your guide to explore the magnificent temples and landmarks of Angkor, traveling by remork, a kind of motorized trishaw typical of Cambodia. First, visit the legendary Angkor Wat, the magnificent 12th century temple built during the reign of King Suryavarman II. The temple is covered with a series of intriguing bas reliefs including depictions of the king’s greatest achievements and images of Apsara dancers surround the five famous towers which replicate the universe according to Hindu mythology. Then, visit the ancient walled city of Angkor Thom, the former capital of the great Khmer empire. Enter through the South Gate, a massive four-faced edifice which is guarded by a line of giants and demons carved from stone. Inside the city walls, you come face-to-face with the Bayon, an imposing 12th century structure commissioned by one the empires most revered rulers, King Jayavarman VII. Continue to Baphuon, a sanctuary dedicated to Brahmanism, and Phimeanakas Temple, a place of worship for kings. Then visit the Terrace of the Elephants, an impressive two-and-a-half-meter (eight-foot) tall wall used as a ceremonial stage, and the Terrace of the Leper King with its amazingly well-detailed bas reliefs. Stop for lunch at local restaurant.

Then continue to Ta Prohm, a beautiful temple that appears to have been claimed by nature thanks to the strangler figs and kapok trees that have entwined themselves around the crumbling stone ruins. After your exploration, return to your hotel by bus. *Please note: Please dress appropriately when visiting temples and religious sites. Shoulders and knees should be covered (no short skirts or short trousers). Some temples, including Angkor Wat, are closed on Buddhist Sabbath Days, religious holidays and various days in the Lunar Calendar. Children under the age of 12 are not permitted to climb Bakan Tower at Angkor Wat.
In the evening, enjoy an energetic performance of theater, dance, art and acrobatics at Phare, The Cambodian Circus. The troupe, whose name translates to “Brightness of Art”, supports and promotes Khmer art and culture, providing much needed opportunities for local youths and developing careers in the arts. Take your VIP seat in the circus tent and witness stunning and heart-warming scenes that depict daily life in Cambodia - a mesmerizing one-hour show with exhilarating set-piece performances that require hours of dedicated practice.

Siem Reap

Treeline Urban Resort, Siem Reap - Deluxe Urban Room

Breakfast at the hotel. Approximately 90 minutes’ drive east of Siem Reap, the awe-inspiring temple of Beng Mealea lies hidden in a remote forest. Built during the reign of King Suryavarman II in the early 12th century, Beng Mealea was once one of the largest temple complexes of the Khmer empire. Now almost completely overgrown by the untamed forest, the ancient structure remained hidden for several centuries and still retains much of its intriguing lost-world charm. As you wander through the sandstone ruins, admire the intricate carvings depicting Hindu mythology, including the Churning of the Sea of Milk and the Birth of Vishnu. Stop for a private picnic lunch at Preah Bat Boun Than. After your exploration, return to your private air-conditioned vehicle for the drive back to Siem Reap. Enjoy afternoon free at leisure at the hotel or you could choose one of our below optional tours:
Continue on evening, take a ride on the back of a Vespa to explore the city and taste exotic foods in authentic local places. Stop in at lively street food spots that are famous among locals, where you can see the hustle and bustle of the vendors and experience a multitude of sights, aromas, and sounds. Taste Khmer delicacies and discover Cambodian rice wine on this all-you-can-eat excursion, which includes free flow soft drinks. So, come prepared with an empty stomach!
